In 2007, visionary leaders Doug Mitchell, MD, MBA, and Hung Davis, MD, CMD, co-founded Maryland Inpatient Care Specialists (MDICS), later renamed Physicians Inpatient Care Specialists. On the eve of its 10th Anniversary, the firm unveiled a new name and identity—Adfinitas Health. The renaming to Adfinitas Health marks 10 years of growth for the company and a continued commitment to optimizing value for its patients and clients.

Over the last 10 years, Adfinitas Health has expanded from providing hospitalist care at a single facility to become Maryland's largest private hospitalist group, serving more than 50 hospitals and post-acute care centers in the Mid-Atlantic region. It provides care in a growing array of settings that include observational units, transitional care units, ICUs, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation units, and inpatient pediatric units. Adfinitas Health also provides advisory services, leadership development and continuing education for its providers as well as billing and coding support services.

A physician-owned and managed company, it employs approximately 400 staff. Its founders have built a stellar national reputation for the company by continually delivering high-quality, cost-effective hospitalist care that exceeds client expectations. The company leverages best practices across multiple sites, saving clients money and eliminating the burden of managing physician and advanced practice provider services while enhancing patient care. It carefully matches each team of providers to the individual needs, goals and culture of each client setting.

Since its founding, Adfinitas Health has been at the forefront of value-based care. It provides high-quality, cost-effective integrated medical services across the full continuum of care. Its unique integrated staffing model, unwavering commitment to client satisfaction, and focus on improving outcomes creates opportunities to transform patient care and drive value.
