Management Team

The Adfinitas Health management team is comprised of experienced physicians and health care industry executives who are passionate about making a significant difference in providing quality patient care to our hospital and post-acute care patients. Adfinitas Health personnel strive to improve outcomes, increase productivity and extend quality services for all of our partners.

Eric T. Nass, President

Eric Nass, President of Adfinitas Health since 2015, oversees the firm's management team and infrastructure, creating a cohesive strategy to support its continuous growth into existing and new lines of business. He has been instrumental in investing in the systems, processes, and human resources necessary to continue the firm's strong growth trajectory while staying true to the founders’ lasting vision of focusing on the needs of clients and patients.

With more than 25 years’ executive leadership experience, Nass has expertise in the areas of operations, strategic planning, finance, corporate development and M&A. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a principal in several middle market M&A advisory and strategic growth consulting firms for 17 years.

Nass began his career with General Electric, where his most recent position was serving as the CFO for GE Silicones–Europe, based in The Netherlands. He also worked in Corporate M&A at GE's International Operations headquarters based in London and held a variety of leadership roles at GE Appliances, GE Capital, GE Pension Fund, GE Corporate Headquarters and MBNA America Bank.

Nass holds a B.S. with Honors in Commerce & Engineering Sciences from Drexel University. He also completed Executive Programs at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, as well as numerous leadership and financial programs at the GE Management Development Institute.

An active member of the community, Nass is a current board member and past President of the Maryland Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and a board member of the Bright Minds Foundation (Howard County Public School's Educational Foundation). He is a former board member of the Alliance of International Corporate Advisors (AICA), Howard County Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Central Maryland, and the International Network of M&A Partners (IMAP).

Idara Nickelson, Vice President of Business Development

Idara joined Adfinitas Health in 2016 as a Vice President of Business Development and is responsible for leading the company’s growth strategy by achieving sales objectives, exploring new business development opportunities, building strategic relationships, and executing marketing and communications efforts. Prior to joining Adfinitas Health, Idara was the founder and Principal of Public Sector Strategies, a consulting firm serving clients in public health, human services, and organizational development. Her primary clients included multiple agencies with the US Department of Health and Human Services. Over her 20 year career, Idara served in various senior executives in government and the nonprofit sector, including a political appointment in the Obama Administration where we oversaw a $1.2 billion annual budget supporting health, education, and community development projects nationwide. Idara received her BA in Economics from Vassar College and is completing an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.

Ledys DiMarsico, MD, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. DiMarsico is the Chief Medical Officer for Adfinitas Health. She joined the company in July 2014 and previously served as the Directory of Quality. She was formerly the Director of Academic Hospitalists at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and a clinical instructor at Johns Hopkins University College of Medicine. Dr. DiMarsico received Romulo Baltazar Excellence in Teaching award in 2009, 2012 and 2013. She also received the Sinai Superstar award in 2011 for outstanding service and dedication. Dr. DiMarsico has over 10 years' experience as a hospitalist medical director and was the medical director of the Intermediate Care Unit, where she assisted in developing order sets, protocols, organized initiatives for HCAHPS, hospital acquired conditions and conducted risk management reviews.

Dr. DiMarsico was also the medical director for Sinai Hospital’s Diabetic Medical Home Extender Program. She helped hire and train community healthcare workers, nurses and case managers, and implemented a system to help reduce hospital readmissions and ER use. As CMO, Ledys collaborates with Adfinitas Health hospital partners and Quality Improvement teams to establish and achieve desired performance goals in the area of Risk Management, Quality, Core Measures, Patient Satisfaction/HCAHPS, Readmissions, HACs, Geographic Rounding, and Discharge Call Center Operations. Additionally, she provides clinical guidance and support to site Regional Medical Directors, Regional COO's and providers. She completed her Medical School training at Howard University College of Medicine and her Residency at Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital program in Internal Medicine where she was also a Chief Resident. She is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians.

Maria Hess, RN, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Post-Acute Services

Maria joined Adfinitas Health in July 2013 with thirty years of professional healthcare experience as a Licensed Registered Nurse. As the VP / COO for our Post-Acute Division, she is accountable for its financial and clinical operations. She is responsible for hiring physician and APP staff for our post-acute care partners and ensuring that these providers comply with company and center specific metrics for quality post-acute care patients that safeguard readmissions reduction initiatives. She meets with our post-acute care clients on a quarterly basis. Prior to joining Adfinitas Health, Maria worked in sales and marketing for a national rehabilitation and long-term care organization for sixteen years managing several hospital accounts. She began her career as an ICU nurse and then spent several years at University of Maryland Medical Center in Shock Trauma as the Assistant Director of Quality working in the area of quality, risk management and the Patient Representation Program by developing policies and procedures, managing programs, and educating providers. Maria served on the board as President of the Maryland Association of Healthcare Quality over a span of 5 years in the early 1990's.


Josh Kipnis, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for Hospital Operations

Josh joined Adfinitas Health in 2014 and is responsible for managing our hospitalist programs and teams, including clinical and non-clinical team members. Josh leads field operations and initiatives focused on continuously improving hospitalist efficiencies and patient outcomes. Prior to joining MDICS, Josh worked for NDC, a healthcare supply chain company, where he led strategy and corporate marketing. Josh previously served in government and on active duty as an officer in the US Air Force. He has a BA from Arizona State University, an MPP from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Michael W. DeCampo, BS, CPA, CMA, Chief Financial Officer

Michael has 30 years’ finance, operations, management and leadership experience, primarily within the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Adfinitas Health , he worked with INOVA Health Care Services and served as Director of Finance for an 830+ bed not-for-profit Hospital with a level-1 trauma center, as well as Interim Chief Operating Officer and Director of Finance for a large pediatric sub-specialty group. In these roles, Mike directed and led the financial, operational and decision support reporting for the hospital and provider group. He was instrumental in creating operating budgets and practice acquisition strategies. He is well versed with both hospital and provider EMRs, such as EPIC and All-Scripts. Mike is also experienced with creating physician compensation and productivity models and improving revenue cycle administration. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Management Accountant and a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, Healthcare Financial Management Association, Medical Group Management Association, Certified Management Accountant, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Gieselle E. Estes, FACHE, Chief Administrative Officer

Gieselle has over 15 years' senior-level, leadership, operations, recruitment and business development experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Adfinitas Health , she worked as the Chief Operating Officer at a large emergency medicine group practice in Texas. In this role, she was responsible for managing emergency care and multi-specialty coverage for 35 contracts, 500 providers and administrative staff. She provided departmental oversight for managed care, recruiting, credentialing, scheduling, marketing, communications, clinic operations and vendors. Gieselle was previously with MedStar Health as the Administrative Director and Assistant Vice President for Strategic Planning and Business Development. During this time, she led the Washington Hospital Center's planning process, served as patient satisfaction administrator, and generated new outreach strategies. Gieselle is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is completing her Black Belt Certification in Lean/Six Sigma at Villanova University.

Mary Anne Varela-Spooner, Director of Human Resources

Mary Anne Varela-Spooner joined Adfinitas Health in January 2017 as the Director of Human Resources. She bring extensive experience in human resources and employee engagement from her previous work in healthcare and the military. Over the past seven years, she worked in health care with HCA Virginia Health Systems, Gainesville Health and Rehab, and Maxim Healthcare Services. Her areas of strength are in leadership development, compliance, strategies to improve retention, evaluations and assessments as well as employee training and development. 

Mary Anne completed her BA at Virginia Wesleyan College and her MBA at the University of Mary Washington, specializing in Organizational and Human Resource Development. She achieved her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) in 2014 and her SHRM-SCP in 2015.

Majid E. Cina, M.D. - Director of Physician Assistant Training

Dr. Cina joined Adfinitas Health in 2011 to lead the Adfinitas Health PA/NP Training Program. He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine for over six years and served as internal medicine residency Associate Program Director. In these positions, he supervised residents and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient settings and cared for patients at the University of Maryland Medical Center. In his second year on faculty, Dr. Cina won the prestigious Woodward Prize in Medicine for excellence in teaching. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Maryland and his Doctor of Medicine from University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at University of Maryland Medical Center and Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Cina is ABIM Certified with a focused practice in Hospital Medicine.

Kevin Funk, Director of Healthcare Analytics

Kevin joined Adfinitas Health in September 2012. He is responsible for externally reporting our performance at each client hospital regarding utilization, readmissions, and mortality. In addition, Kevin provides internal reporting for both the hospital and post-acute care provider groups. He was formerly with University of Maryland Medical System and is experienced with hospital financial analysis, HSCRC and Medicare cost reporting, and compliance. In addition to his healthcare background, Kevin has analytical experience working with several non-healthcare companies. Kevin has been a member of the Maryland Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) since 1998 and has participated on the Program and Newsletter committees.

Christina Sollerer, PA-C, CAQ, Program Director for Mid-level Provider Training

Chri stina joined Adfinitas Health in 2008 as a certified internal medicine physician assistant at Anne Arundel Medical Center and was promoted to Lead PA. In her new position as the Adfinitas Health Program Director for Mid-level Provider Training, she is responsible for developing the Adfinitas Health accredited internal medicine residency program for newly hired PA/NP graduates. She works with our hospital partners to coordinate the integration of newly hired staff as well as developing policies. Christina travels to our hospitals to provide clinical oversight, training and feedback for new PAs who have graduated from the Adfinitas Health PA Training program. She is also a mentor to Physician Assistant students in their clinical year from George Washington University and Anne Arundel Community College. She received a bachelor of science in Medical Studies and a master of science in Physician Assistant Studies from DeSales University, Center Valley, PA. In 2015 she earned her Certificate of Added Qualifications in Internal Medicine. Additionally Christina serves as a First Lieutenant PA-C in the Army National Guard Aberdeen Proving Ground, Edgewood, MD Aviation Battalion since 2014, where she is responsible for the training of medics, paramedics and aviation personnel. Alongside her husband, Christina works with charities to raise awareness for wounded soldiers internationally.

Monica Wright, Director of Revenue Cycle Management

Monica joined Adfinitas Health in 2015 as the Coding Auditor and Educator and was promoted to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management. She has over 20 years’ experience in coding, billing and practice management and has taught medical coding and billing at the community college level. Monica holds four certifications: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), Certified Medical Manager (CMM) and a Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR). She is an approved ICD-10 cm/pcs trainer. Monica works directly with our providers to educate and train them in a way that maximizes coding accuracy and reimbursements.
