Dr. Ledys DiMarsico, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, collaborates with Adfinitas Health’s hospital partners and quality improvement teams to establish and achieve desired performance goals in the area of risk management, quality, core measures, patient satisfaction/HCAHPS, readmissions, HACs, geographic rounding, and discharge call center operations. Additionally, she provides clinical guidance and support to site regional medical directors, regional COO’s and providers.
She previously served as the director of quality for the company. Her prior experience included serving as the Director of Academic Hospitalists at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and as a clinical instructor at Johns Hopkins University College of Medicine. Ledys has over 10 years’ experience as a hospitalist medical director and was the medical director of the Intermediate Care Unit, where she assisted in developing order sets and protocols, organized initiatives for HCAHPS and hospital acquired conditions, and conducted risk management reviews.
Ledys was also the medical director for Sinai Hospital’s Diabetic Medical Home Extender Program, where she helped hire and train community healthcare workers, nurses and case managers, and implemented a system to reduce hospital readmissions and ED use.
Ledys completed her medical school training at Howard University College of Medicine and her residency at Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital program in Internal Medicine, where she was also a chief resident. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
In 2018, the American College of Physicians Maryland Chapter recognized Ledys as Outstanding Hospitalist of the Year for her ongoing contributions and dedication to the field of hospital medicine. She received the Romulo Baltazar Excellence in Teaching award in 2009, 2012, and 2013. She also received the Sinai Superstar award in 2011 for outstanding service and dedication.
